A focus this trip was to recharge — mind, body, soul. I began each morning with a short yoga/stretch session outside our RV (mat on shade ground, sun low). I breathed in warm air, listened to birds calling, and felt tension loosen.
Afterward, I sipped herbal tea and wandered to the edge of the palm grove, notebook in hand. I wrote gratitude lists, observations, small poems. Midmorning, I went for a gentle hike on resort trails, listening deeply: rustle of palms, crunch of brush, occasional wren calls.
Lunch was light: salads with greens, grilled shrimp, citrus vinaigrette, fresh fruit. Afternoon: nap, reading, swim. Evening: I made a restorative soup (vegetable broth, squash, greens, herbs) and a simple tofu stir-fry over rice.
At dusk, I sat quietly, meditated, watched the sky soften in color. The soundscape here is gentle: insects, distant water drips, soft breezes. I realized I felt more centered than I had in a long while.
Vacation doesn’t always have to be about “doing.” Sometimes the deepest gift is simply to be — in nature, quiet, and gentle spaces like Bentsen Palm.
